STAGE PERFORMANCE
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

OPTION 1 – IDEAL SET UP

Image

This set up involves the venue having a ceiling mounted projector. This is by far the best option, as the projector will have already been set up and connected to the venue's soundsystem. The projection will be played directly onto the back wall - no panel/curtains/drop down screen as this will cause issues. This setup is ideal as the projector is high above the audience, and therefore casting no shadows onto the stage wall. All house/stage lights (other than the projector) must come down at the start of the act in order for the projection to be visible.

OPTION 2 – DIY SETUP

Image

This set up involves having the projector stationed at the end of the stage, pointing slightly upwards. This will only work if the stage is long enough/has enough distance for the projection to cover a 7/8 foot tall picture. This is also the second option, as the venue will not have a audio/visual setup in place - which means tech will need more time to set up the projector/laptop/sound connection. The projection will be played directly onto the back wall - no panel/curtains/drop down screen can be used as will cause issues. All house/stage lights (other than the projector) must come down at the start of the act, as if any lights are on the projection will not be seen.

PLEASE BARE IN MIND THE FOLLOWING:

  • I do not own my own projector/laptop, so will be bringing the file in .mp4 format to the venue and will pass this onto tech for audio/visual setup
  • The wall of the stage being projected onto will need to be bare – curtains, decorations, fringing, banners etc will need to be removed for the act
  • A quick tech run will be needed before doors open, so I can check how big the projection coverage is and change my movements accordingly
  • If Option 2 is used – the projector cannot be setup within the audience and has to be infront of them, otherwise shadows will be cast
